All in-person activities at the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church (MBC) are currently postponed. This includes Sunday worship services, Bible study and all auxiliary meetings.
As Christians, we know that God has not given us a spirit of fear...
(2 Timothy 1:7). We also know that whatever the circumstances GOD IS in total control. The COVID-19 or coronavirus is not simply a threat, it is a serious illness that has a high mortality rate. To date, there are 21.8 million worldwide cases and 773,000 confirmed deaths. In the United States, our numbers are continuing to rise; so far, there have been 5.4 million confirmed cases with 170,000 reported deaths. Texas remains one of the ‘hotbeds' of coronavirus infections...to date there are 562,000 confirmed cases and 10,507 deaths.
God's Church may be absent from its brick and mortar building, but each of us as individuals – we are ‘The Church!' Prayerfully commit yourselves to the spreading of The Gospel of Jesus Christ within your own circle of influence – your families, your friends and neighbors, and your workplace. While we are not meeting in person, we continue to have virtual meetings with our Wednesday Bible Study, Sunday Worship Service and Friday Women's Fellowship Zoom meetings.
Please join me in this time of continual prayer for our world, our nation, and our community. I consider every St. Luke MBC member to be one of my ‘sheep' that God has entrusted me to care for. And I do care for each of you deeply; that is why I am committed to doing all I can to keep our members, their families, and the community at large as safe as possible during this time of crisis.
In The Service of The King,
Pastor James E. Pate, Jr.
